Moapa Valley is a community about 45 miles northeast of Las Vegas off of Interstate 15. Archeological studies show that this area has been populated as far back as 1000 B.C., and Pueblo occupations of the area began around the time of Christ and spread throughout the valley. Moapa Valley is an unincorporated part of Clark County, it has two small towns, Logandale & Overton, with a population of just under 7000. The Valley has historically been an agricultural community with a fair amount of water available for irrigation as the Muddy River flows through the valley on its way to Lake Mead. The Moapa Valley is one of the “Gateways” to the Lake Mead National recreation area and the Valley of Fire. With close to 10 million visitors per year to these recreational sites the Moapa Valley is the route for all visitors coming South on I-15 from Utah.

The Moapa Valley is currently going through “Growing Pains”, as the little town of Las Vegas continues to transform into one of the Major Urban Cities in the US, people start to look for the “Suburbs.” Unfortunately for Logandale & Overton, they are less than an hour drive to down town Vegas which makes them a prime target in the path of growth, and as Southern Nevada continues to see a huge influx of population the Suburbs are starting to see the pressure.

Moapa Valley is a great place to raise a family! The community has maintained the rural feel and will continue to do so for many years to come. A small home site is a ½ acre lot, with many lots being over 2 acres. You will still see farmers in their fields, horses grazing in the pastures and young men learning to rope steers. It’s even possible to spot a buffalo or two grazing in some of the pastures in Logandale.

Being in Clark County puts all of the schools in Moapa Valley under the Clark County School District umbrella. As a result you have a community with a small population and first class, newly constructed schools.

Moapa Valley is also the home to the Clark County Fairgrounds & the Lost City Museum.
