Las Vegas Schools
Schools are always a concern when you are moving and sometimes they are the reason to move. This page should give you some direction when you are doing your research about how “Las Vegas Schools” work.
Las Vegas Schools – Public
All of the public schools in Las Vegas are currently part of the Clark County School District, there has been some discussion in the past about making changes to this but for right now it’s all one. This means that the difference between Las Vegas schools has everything to do with the principals and the teachers. Their web site is www.ccsd.net when you are there you will want to compare the “Accountability Reports” of the schools you are considering.
Another very important issue to keep in mind is “Zoning Info.” With all of the growth we have seen in the area over the past years the boundaries for Las Vegas schools are always changing in an attempt to balance the student population. You will find that the district will publish more than one “School Year” of maps on the site so be very careful when it comes to this. The site has a very good Zoning Search, just put in the property address and it will tell you the exact zoning. DON’T TRUST MLS RECORDS, they are often wrong.
Las Vegas Schools – Secondary
There are several college and university programs available in the Vegas area. Many have gone through recent budgetary cuts which have resulted in dramatic changes in the courses currently offered, it would be wise to check with them directly to determine their current offerings.
Here are some links to the majorĀ Las Vegas Schools.
University of Nevada, Las Vagas – UNLV
Community College of Southern Nevada – CSN
University of Southern Nevada – USN
The Art Institute of Las Vegas – AI
