Incorporated in 1946, the city of North Las Vegas is located in Clark County. The city is stretched across the northern edge of the Las Vegas Valley, occupying more than 82 square miles. From 1990 to 2000, the population of North Las Vegas grew by 142% to make it one of the fastest growing large cities in America. As of July 2005 there were 176,635 people living in North Las Vegas to make it the fourth largest city in Nevada.

Charleston and the Las Vegas Speedway.

The property appreciation has resulted an increase of 259% in assessed value of the city. The cost of living index for North Las Vegas is similar to that of Phoenix Arizona, Salt Lake City Utah, and Albuquerque New Mexico. The city planner's focus on economic development for North Las Vegas has attracted many new businesses to its already successful commercial and industrial business base. Despite the record breaking growth in available commercial space, the City´s industrial market has the lowest vacancy rate in Southern Nevada.

In recent years the Bureau of Land Management has released more than 16,000 acres of land, providing excellent growth opportunities to this growing metropolitan area. The master planned communities are incorporating a mixture of luxury and affordable housing projects as well as commercial and recreational areas. Currently under consideration, are the upcoming master-planned developments for the northern-most edge of the City by The Olympia Group.
