Schools are always a concern when you are moving and sometimes they are the reason to move. This should give you some direction when you are doing your research about how our schools work in Southern Nevada.

All of the public schools in Clark County are in the same school district at this time, there has been some discussion in the past about making changes to this but for right now it's all one. This means that the difference between public schools has everything to do with the principals and the teachers. Their web site is www.ccsd.net when you are there you will want to compare the "Accountability Reports" of the schools you are considering.

Another very important issue to keep in mind is "Zoning Info." With all of the growth we have seen in the area over the past years the school boundries are always changing in an attempt to balance the student population. You will find that the school district will publish more than one school year of maps on the site so be very careful when it comes to this. The site has a very good Zoning Search, just put in the property address and it will tell you the exact zoning. DON'T TRUST MLS RECORDS, they are often wrong.

There are several other college and university programs available in the area as well. Here are some links to the major schools.

University of Nevada, Las Vagas - UNLV

Community College of Southern Nevada - CSN

University of Southern Nevada - USN

The Art Institute of Las Vegas - AI
